Parianos is an area in the west of Pano Koufonisi.
Its cove is vital to the island because it is sheltered from the wind and thus a safe refuge for the island’s fishing fleet.
The area is great for walking. You can set out at the village, walk to Parianos and come back the other way.
At sunset the horizon flames all shades of red, and the view of Naxos and the other islands is stunning.
There are a few houses in the area.
It is served by the cafe-restaurant ‘Aneplora‘, which is open all day, ready to provide drinks or refreshment.
